Objectives:
- The competition aims to encourage creativity, innovation, and healthy eating habits among students by showcasing their ability to prepare delicious fireless cooking dishes using millets.
- To create awareness about the nutritional value of food cooked without flame, the necessity and advantages of healthy eating and to encourage everyone to stay away from junk food.
- To help them explore the art of cookery and discover new areas of interest.
Outcome:
- This competition not only promotes the use of millets in healthy cooking but also encourages the development of culinary skills among students.

Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Library & NDLI Club conducted a Competition
on “Flameless Cooking with Millets” on 28.01.2026 at 02.00 pm in DDGDVC Library.
The competition was conducted for the NDLI Club Members of DDGDVC. The
competition was judged by Milet Maharani Ms.V.Karpagavalli, Assistant Professor,
Department of Commerce, DDGD Vaishnav College. The gathering was welcomed by Dr.M.Mani,
NDLI Club Secretary and Librarian, DDGDVC. All the teams performed well and it
was highly appreciated by our judge. The event challenged participants to
create nutritious, aesthetically pleasing dishes using various types of millets
such as Ragi, Jowar, and Bajra without the use of traditional heat sources. The
top three teams were awarded cash prizes. All the participants were given
participation certificates.
