Library Team Development Programme (LTDP) - 13 on 30.12.2022

Programme Objectives:

This topic was chosen in order to equip the library team members to practice easy-to-use website creation tool Google Sites, which allows quickly creating and editing website / blog for marketing of library resources and services.

Programme Outcome:

• To learn about the essential functions of Google Sites
• To create a library website/blog to act as a single search platform and meet the needs of the library users. 
• To use the Google Sites to promote library resources and services among the user community.

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College Library organized the 13th Library Team Development Programme (LTDP).

Library Team Development Programme (LTDP) on the topic “Designing Website Using Google Sites" presented by Mr.C.Sudhakar, Proprietor, SV Creations, Erode on 30.12.2022 at 10.30 am at our Library.

The welcome address was delivered by Ms.J.Sangeetha Assistant Librarian, DDGD Vaishnav College. Dr.M.Mani Librarian introduce the resource person. Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo, Principal, DDGD Vaishnav College, Delivered a Presidential address. The resource person Mr.C.Sudhakar took over the session and gave a detailed presentation on Designing Website Using Google Sites.The session concluded with Vote of thanks by Mr.I.Noorul Hasan, LAT DDGD Vaishnav College.

• To develop the online-based services in the library
• To create a mobile-based library service for users

 Programme Outcome:

• Staff can gain expertise in some software through hands-on training.
• It will help the staff to attract more user marketing the library services

Library Team Development Programme (LTDP) on the topic “ICT Tools for Marketing the Library Services" presented by Selvan.R.Vijaya Kumar, Technical Assistant, Central Library, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (deemed to be University), Chennai on 24.12.2022 at 10.30 am at our Library.

The welcome address was delivered by Ms.C.Premakumari, Assistant Librarian, DDGD Vaishnav College. Dr.M.Mani Librarian introduce the resource person. Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo, Principal, DDGD Vaishnav College, Delivered a Presidential address. The Keynote address was presented by Dr.V.Meenakshi, Assistant Professor and Head i/c, Department of Economics (Shift-2) DDGD Vaishnav College, Chennai The resource person. Selvan.R.Vijaya Kumar took over the session and gave a detailed presentation on ICT Tolls for Marketing the Library Services.The session concluded with Vote of thanks by Mr.I.Noorul Hasan, LAT DDGD Vaishnav College.

Report:

The Library, DDGD Vaishnav College, conducted a Workshop titled “Scholarly Writing and Publication Ethics” on 22.12.2022 in the Gyan Darshan Auditorium, School of Management. 141 participants comprising of students from the PG Department of Computer Science, M.Sc Information Technology, M.Sc Microbiology, M.A English and research scholars from various departments participated in the workshop. Selvan.R.Pranav M.Sc(IT), NDLI Club Member welcome the gathering. Dr.J.Arumugam, Librarian, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore Tamil Nadu was the resource person. The session commenced with the presidential address delivered by Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo, Principal, DDGD Vaishnav College. Dr.K.Angayarkkani, Assistant Professor and Head i/c, M.Sc Information Technology (Shift II) delivered the keynote address and Ms.P.Suganya, Assistant Professor and Head i/c, Department of Computer Science (Shift II) delivered the thematic address of the session. Selvi.Y.Yadushaila, M.Sc (IT), NDLI club Member introduce the resource person. The programme was organized to give an exposure to the post graduate students and research scholars of various departments on how to write a scholarly research papers and strategies to be followed. The students came up with creative open-ended questions and deliberated during the session. The workshop concluded with a prize distribution and a feedback session. The vote of thanks was rendered by Dr.M.Mani, Librarian, Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College. Selvan.R.V.Vijauakumar and Selvi.A.Amritha, M.Sc. (CS), NDLI Club members acted as master of ceremony.

Outcome:                                                                                        Participants can understand about various methods of scholarly writing and the publication ethics to be followed in the research arena.
