Dr.S.R.Ranganathan Birthday Celebration on 12.08.2026

Commemoration of the 134th Birth Anniversary of Padmashri.Prof.Dr.Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India on the Occasion of  National Librarians Day Celebration

The Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College Library celebrated the Commemoration of the 134th Birth Anniversary of Padmashri.Prof.Dr.Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India on the Occasion of National Librarians Day Celebration on August 12, 2026. Ms.B.Sangeetha, an Assistant Professor & Head in the Department of Mathematics with Computer Application at DDGDVC, served as the esteemed guest speaker. In her presentation titled "Your Reading Our Success" she emphasised the significance of reading. Subsequently, all faculty members and students pledged to uphold this commitment.

Awareness Programme on Protection against Digital Arrest and Cyber Security on 03.08.2026

 


Objectives:

  • To raise awareness about digital arrest scams and cybercrime techniques.
  • To educate participants on safe online behaviour and digital hygiene.
  • To explain legal rights, reporting procedures, and response strategies.
  • To develop skills for recognising and preventing cyber threats.
  • To promote responsible and secure use of digital technologies.

Outcome:

  • Participants will understand that law enforcement, tax authorities, or customs agencies never conduct investigations, issue warrants, or citizens arrest via Skype, WhatsApp, or any video call.
  • Awareness of basic legal rights regarding government inquiries and the official protocols that law enforcement must follow.
  • Knowledge of how and where to report financial fraud or cyber threats (such as using national cybercrime portals or hotlines).
  • A shift from panic-driven reactions to a calm, sceptical approach when receiving urgent communications from unknown numbers.
  • Participants will become active advocates for cyber safety within their families and workplace, sharing best practices with vulnerable groups like elderly relatives or those less familiar with cyber laws and technology.

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College Library & NDLI Club conducted an Awareness Programme on “Protection Against Digital Arrest and Cyber Security” on 03.08.2026 at 11.30 am in the Seminar Hall-I. The awareness programme was attended by 80 participants. Welcome address was delivered by Ms.R.Soundarya, Assistant Professor, Department of MSW. The presidential address was delivered by our Principal Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo. Dr.M.Mani  honoured the Resource Person CMA Rakesh Shankar Ravisankar, Assistant Professor, PG & Research Department of Commerce, DDGDVC. Mr.I.Noorul Hasan, Assistant Librarian introduced the resource person to the gathering. The session raised awareness about cyber security, promoting responsible and secure use of digital technology. The programme concluded with a prize distribution, and a feedback session. The vote of thanks was rendered by Dr.M.Mani, Librarian, Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College.
