Intra College Quiz Competition (Newspaper Review Quiz - 2023) on 25.07.2023

Objectives:

To inculcate reading habit among the students and also increase the footfall of students to the library and enrich their knowledge through books, periodicals and digital resources.

Outcome:

Introducing the pleasure of reading periodicals and converting this ten days exercise in to a habit.
Enhancing the knowledge of Students.
Updating the global information of the Student community.

Report:

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Library & NDLI Club organized and conducted a Competition on “Intra - College Quiz Competition” on 25.07.2023 at 10.00 am in DDGDVC Library. The competition was conducted for the NDLI Club Members of DDGDVC. The competition was judged by Dr.K.Rao Prashanth Jyoty, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration DDGD Vaishnav College. The gathering was welcomed by Dr. P. Suresh, NDLI Club President and Assistant Professor, Department of English (Shift I), DDGDVC. All the teams performed well and it was highly appreciated by our judge. They enlightened the participants on the importance of reading newspapers and how to keep themselves updated with the entire world. In total, fifty four students participated in the competition and the top three teams were awarded. All the participants were given participation certificates.

Library Team Development Programme (LTDP) - 14 on 22.07.2023

Programme Objectives:

To introduce Word Press as a content management system (CMS) and provide them with a basic understanding of its features an functionalities.

To learn about the specific requirements and functionalities needed for a library web portal, such as catalog management, search functionality, user accounts, event management, and resource sharing.

To integrate various library services into the web portal, such as online catalog access, e-book Access, event registration

Programme Outcomes:

The LTDP aims to empower the team members with the necessary skills to create and manage a robust library web portal using WordPress, ultimately enhancing library services, user experience, and resource sharing capabilities.

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College Library organized the 14th Library Team Development Programme (LTDP). Library Team Development Programme (LTDP) on the topic “Creation of Library Web Portal using WordPress" presented by Mr.V.Radhakrishnan, Librarian, T. S.Srinivasan Centre for Polytechnic College and Advanced Training (CPAT-TVS) Vanagaram, Chennai on 22.07.2023 at 10.30 am at our Library.

The welcome address was delivered by Ms.C.Premakumari, Assistant Librarian, DDGD Vaishnav College. Dr.M.Mani, Librarian, introduce the resource person. Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo, Principal, DDGD Vaishnav College, Delivered a Presidential address. Dr.P.Arularasan, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, honored the resource person. The resource person Mr.V.Radhakrishnan took over the session and gave a detailed lecture on Creation of Library Web Portal Using Wordpress. The session concluded with Vote of thanks by Mr.I.Noorul Hasan, LAT DDGD Vaishnav College.

Vaishnav Crossword Puzzle Competition on 18.07.2023

Objectives:

To enhance their knowledge
To enrich their group activity skills

Outcome:

Vaishnav Crossword Puzzle Competition was conducted to inculcate the proficiency on crossword puzzle and its significance in the minds of students to enrich their reading habits As a result, the students have understood the eminence of Vaishnavism.

Report:

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Library & NDLI Club organized and conducted a competition on “Vaishnav Crossword Puzzle Competition” on 18.07.2023 at 10.00 am in DDGDVC Library. The competition was conducted for the NDLI Club Members of DDGDVC. The competition was judged by Dr.V.Sowmyanarayanan, Assistant Professor, Head Department of Sanskrit (Shift I) and Dr.S.Ganesh, Assistant Professor, Head i/c Department of Sanskrit (Shift II) DDGD Vaishnav College. The gathering was welcomed by Dr. P. Suresh, NDLI Club President and Assistant Professor, Department of English (Shift I), DDGDVC. All the students performed well and it was highly appreciated by our judges. They enlightened the participants on the importance of reading and gathering the knowledge on Vaishnavism for future generations. In total, sixty two students participated in the competition and the top three participants were awarded. All the participants were given participation certificates.
