- To provide an overview of what Zotero is and how it can be used to collect, manage, and organize citations for articles, books, and other sources
- To demonstrate how to organize references in Zotero by creating collections and using keywords and tags
- To provide opportunities for participants to practice hands-on practically using Zotero
Outcomes:
- To be able to install Zotero onto their operating system and add the necessary browser add-ons
- To insert citations and create bibliographies using Zotero with word processors like Microsoft Word and Google Docs
- To explore additional features of Zotero, such as adding notes, attaching files, and using plugins

The Library, DDGD Vaishnav College jointly with Society for the
Advancement of Library and Information Science (SALIS) conducted a Workshop
titled “Zotero: Reference Management Software” on 08.09.2023 in the Library
premises. 32 participants comprising of students from the PG Department of
English participated in the workshop. Ms.Nandhini Assistant
Professor, Department of English welcomed the gathering. Mr.Sanmati Jinendran Jain, Junior
Library Information Superintendent, Central Library, Indian Institute of
Technology Goa was the resource person. The session commenced with the presidential
address delivered
by Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo, Principal, DDGD Vaishnav College. Mr.J.Praveen Prabhu,
Assistant Professor and Head i/c, PG Department of English (Shift II) delivered
the keynote address for the session. Mrs.C.Premakumari Assistant Librarian introduced
the resource person. The programme was organized to give an exposure to the post
graduate students of PG department of English on how to manage the references
in their research work. The students came up with creative open-ended questions
and deliberated during the session. The workshop concluded with a prize
distribution and a feedback session. The vote of thanks was rendered by Dr.M.Mani,
Librarian, Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College.
