User Awareness Programme on Use of Plagiarism Detection Software (PDS): DrillBit on 02.03.2024


Objectives:

  • To educate users and raise awareness about the importance of plagiarism detection and the use of DrillBit software to maintain academic integrity.
  • To provide hands-on training to library users on how to effectively use the DrillBit software to check for plagiarism in their academic work.
  • To emphasize the significance of ethical writing and the consequences of plagiarism in academic and research writing.

Outcomes:

  • Increased awareness: Users will have a clear understanding of the concept of plagiarism and the role of plagiarism detection software in academic writing.
  • Enhanced skills: Users will be proficient in using the DrillBit software to check their documents for plagiarism and ensure originality in their work.
  • Promotion of integrity: Encouragement of a culture of academic integrity and ethical writing practices within the academic community.

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College Library organises a user awareness Programme on “Use of Plagiarism Detection Software (PDS): DrillBit” on 02.03.2024 at 4.00 p.m. via Google Meet by Mr.R.Raghavendra, Head of Business Development, DrillBit SoftTech India Private Limited, Bangalore. Dr.R.Vasanthi, Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry, DDGDVC delivered the welcome address. Presidential address was delivered by Dr.Prabha Rajagopalan, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Corporate Secretaryship and Deputy Controller of Examinations, DDGDVC and Dr.M.Mani, Librarian, DDGDVC introduced the resource person. The session offered insights into the functionality of the DrillBit software and its role in identifying and preventing plagiarism across various languages. This software aids academic institutions in enhancing efficiency and ensuring quality content by providing an automated system to verify the authenticity and originality of written work. The session ended with Vote of thanks by Dr.U.Latha, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Information Technology and Computer Application, DDGDVC.
