Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College Library
and NDLI Club conducted a Awareness Programme for Academic and Research Connect
Platforms on 20.12.2024 at 02.00 pm in the computer lab. The session commenced
with a Welcome Address delivered by Dr.M.Mani, the Librarian. This initiative
proved to be successful, offering participants valuable insights and resources.
By utilising these platforms, the institution aims to improve its research
visibility, encourage collaborations and contribute to the progression of
knowledge. Students presented innovative solutions to the open-ended questions
discussed during the session. The vote of thanks was rendered by Dr.P.Suganya,
Assistant Professor & Head i/c, Department of Computer Science, Dwaraka
Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College.

Caring is sharing: An Initiative by the Library Team for our Teammates Distribution of Immunity Booster (Kabasura Kudineer) on 18.12.2024
Objective:
- Improve the overall health and well-being of the library team members.

Carving a Niche Corner for Indian Knowledge System (IKS) on 17.12.2024
Objective:
- To collect preserve and showcase various material related to the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), such as ancient texts, manuscripts, research papers and contemporary works.
- To spread knowledge and awareness of the Indian Knowledge System by collecting and preserving relevant materials.
Outcome:
- To provide a general introduction to the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) and raise awareness about the contributions made by ancient Indians in the field of science, philosophy, linguistics, economics, architecture and related applications and concepts.

The Library, in collaboration with the Indian
Knowledge Systems Cell (IKSC) of Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College
organised a programme titled “Carving a Niche Corner for Indian Knowledge
System (IKS)” on 17th December 2024. The session commenced
with the welcome address by Dr.V.Sowmyanarayanan, Convener of IKSC.
Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo, the Principal, delivered the inaugural address where he highlighted India’s rich intellectual heritage with an emphasis on its contributions to several fields like Astronomy, Medicine, Geology, and Architecture by referring to the enduring Kallanai (Rock Dam) and the Tanjore Big Temple as illustrations. He urged the students to explore the invaluable IKS resources to deepen their knowledge and understanding through their active involvement with the IKSC and the library. Dr.M.Mani, the Librarian, extended the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of Dr.D.Uthra, Head of the Department of Physics, in curating the books pertinent to IKS.

Awareness Programme on DDGDVC E-Resources on 10.12.2024
Objective:
- To emphasise the role of these databases for their utilisation in assignments, research papers, and projects.
- Integrate NDLI resources into their academic routine, leading to more comprehensive and well-rounded learning experience.
- To guide students on how to access and utilise scholarly articles, e-books, journals, and other digital resources efficiently.
Outcome:
- To gain hands-on experience with database functionalities and advanced search features.
- To incorporate databases into their daily study routines, resulting in more comprehensive and high-quality learning and research outputs.
- To increase the utilisation of the library’s subscribed databases by students and faculty for academic and research purpose.

Library and NDLI Club conducted a session titled "Awareness Programme on
DDGDVC E Resources" on 10th December 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The
session was led by Ms.C.Premakumari and Mr.I.Noorul Hasan, Assistant Librarian
of DDGDVC. Commencing with a welcoming address, the resource individuals
delivered an in-depth presentation on the DDGDVC E-Resources, outlining its
vast array of e-resources and demonstrating how students can utilize these
tools to enhance their academic research efforts. Furthermore, the session
included information on the registration procedure for the DDGDVC NDLI Club,
opportunities for involvement in various activities, and advice on obtaining
certificates.
