Report :

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Library & NDLI Club conducted a Programme on “Explore Your Serendipity” on 10.01.2024 at 12.30 pm in DDGDVC Library. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr.P.Suresh, NDLI Club President. The Principal Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo in his presidential address emphasized the importance of reading habits and the power of reading habits. During his keynote address Dr.T.Augustine Arul Prasad, Associate Professor, Chemistry passionately highlighted the importance of the event objectives. He reiterated the need to encourage students to explore and engage with rare books, fostering a deeper appreciation for the library’s unique collection. Dr.T.Augustine Arul Prasad underlined how optimizing the visibility of these resources would contribute to nurturing a stronger reading culture among the users and empower then to embrace the value of reading in today’s digital era. The event concluded with a profound vote of thanks delivered by the Dr.M.Mani, Librarian.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) on 09.01.2024

Objectives :

To promote clean and hygienic environment in the library by upgrading the sanitation facilities, waste management, and solid waste disposal systems.
Provide a more pleasant and conducive experience within the library premises.
Encouraging a shift in people’s attitude and outlook towards cleanliness and hygiene.
Reduce the risk of mould, insects, and other pests in the library.

Outcomes :

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) has made significant progress in improving sanitation and hygiene.

Create a conducive reading space for both staff and students.
Prevent dust and dirt which can sustain or attract mold, insects and other pests in the collections.
The campaign contributed to a shift in societal attitude towards cleanliness and hygiene, with more people adopting proper sanitation practices.

Report :

Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Library, National Service Scheme (NSS) & NDLI Club conducted a Programme on “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” on 09.01.2024 at 10.30 am in DDGDVC Library. The initiative aimed to promote a clean and hygienic environment within the library premises. Activities included cleaning racks, rearranging and shifting books and involved NSS Volunteers, NSS Programme officers and Library team members.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme was successful in addressing various aspects of sanitation, hygiene and environmental cleanliness. The collaborative efforts contributed to fostering a cleaner and healthier library environment. The initiative played a crucial role in promoting better sanitation practices, which will benefit the library and it’s were in the future. All the participants were given participation certificates.
